31% of All Manatee Deaths in FL Due to Boats Hitting Them
- "Collisions with boats and propellers are a major cause of manatee injuries and death in Florida. In 2002, 305 manatees died in state waters, according to the latest figures from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
