Marine Protected Areas are a Great Investment
- "According to a recent study by the World Wildlife Fund, expanding MPAs to cover 10%-30% of the ocean will have a benefit to cost ratio of at least 3:1 and up to 20:1. This translates to between $490 and $920 billion in benefits, and 150,000 to 180,000 additional full time jobs by 2050. By protecting and allowing the ocean to recover, MPAs protect the ocean’s assets and its health." - excerpt from Ocean Health Index News.
