Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument: Biodiversity Hotspot!

"Much like our previous aerial surveys, this trip’s sightings did not disappoint. In less than four hours, we saw more than 600 animals. That’s the equivalent of about three animals per minute, an amazing count in such a short period of time and the highest count so far! The marine monument is known as the “Serengeti of the Sea” for a reason." - Excerpt from Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life, September 12 2018.
