Changes in the Arctic Ocean Linked to Low Latitude Oceans

Researchers from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the Finnish Meteorological Institute have been investigating how the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans are influencing climate changes in the Arctic Ocean. They found that the warm, salty influx of Atlantic seawater encourages more oceanic mixing, and the warm, fresher water from the Pacific increases stratification between the surface and deep layers of the Arctic. Read more about the findings at University of Alaska Fairbanks.
